Hi, first of all welcome to this carrd.
This is going to be an introduction to the 'social/cultural' side of agere.

This consist of things like online communities and teminology, this way you can better navigate your way through online agere communities.

If you have no idea what agere is you should read the psychological/technical carrd first as there will be no explanation here.

This carrd is intended as a part 2 to the first carrd so please read the first carrd here:

If you are ready to begin then please go ahead.

There will be four sections to this carrd.
1.) A section about the different communities.
2.) A section about terminology.
3.) A small rant
and
4.) A final section with a few notes.

I understand that this and the previous carrd are fairly long but they are the all the basic information you will need compiled as much as possible, they are indented to be indepth :)

Communities

'Groups of people, typically online gathered because of a shared interest, view or situation.'

Key:
If it is highlighted then it means it is an agere community.

If it is underlined then it is a kink/fetish group.

Ageplay: Refers a range of different kinks that are centred around age, Cgl comes under this umbrella.

Cgl: 'Caregiver, Little' A gender neutral/umbrella term for dd/lg, mm/lg and other variants. The little in the dynamic roleplays as a child and is submissive to their dom.

Abdl: 'Adult Baby Diaper Lover' alternatively 'TBDL : Teen Baby Diaper Lover' A fetish community centred around diapers and other baby items.

Cglre: 'Caregiver, Little regressor' An agere community that was originally founded for people coming out of kink after mistakenly placing themselves there, shares a lot of tags and terminology with Cgl but is not a kink-friendly community.

Agedre: 'Age Dreaming' a community of people who use childish activities as a form of self therapy but mentally they do not fit with the generally accepted definition of Age Regression, this community is not technically an 'agere' community but they are welcomed into agere spaces.

Chire: 'Child Regression' an agere community that was founded after cglre, it is an agere community that does not use kink-shared terms and typically does not allow interactions from people who use these terms for the safety/comfort of its members. (largely inactive these days I think?)

Kidheart: An agere community founded after Chire with a similar intention as Chire.

Next I'll be talking about the history of all these communities, It will be quiet long, If you don't care about that and you just wanted the above information then you can skip here:

For as long as most people can remeber there have online communitys for people in kink, one of these being the cgl communities. Age regressors never had such community for a long time.
This does not mean age regression was non-exsistant, regression is was just something people would do unable to put a name to it. (and of course there was Age Regression as a branch of hypnotherapy (which was a contreversial practice)) but there was never an online community for people who Age regressed.

Unfortunately before agere became a little more well known a lot of people who couldnt find a name to put to what they where experiencing, a lot of people mis-placed themselves and thought they where just into non-sexual cgl, this obviously may have caused a lot of discomfort for people.

This is what the cglre community was originally founded for, for people coming out of kink because they realised they where never meant to be there, This is why that community shares so much terminology with cgl.

A lot of age regressors choose not to associate with that community because the terminology makes them uncomfortable and some like it, both are still valid as age regressors.

Another Agere community was founded and they didnt like the fact that cglre was (very minimally) associated with kink and accused cglre of being kink and made some of their own terminology, this is the chire community which stands for child regression.

Because of the constant drama, bullying and toxic behaviour between the two communities they were not a very safe space for the people within them, this is why and how the kidheart community popped up, they wanted to create a community similar to chire but without the toxic atmosphere.

There are a lot more smaller communities but I will not be covering them, they may be added in the future.

Remember: you don't have to be part of any online community to be a valid age regressor

Terminology
NEVER CROSSTAG ONLINE

KEY:
If something is underlined it means that it is Agere only terminology that should never be used when talking about kink

If something is in bold this means it is shared terminology between both the Agere 'Cglre' community and other communitys, you will have to check the context in which its said to know which one

If something is in italics that means it is kink terminology and should never be used when talking about Age Regression

Regression: The act of mentally regressing, often used in psychology as well but can never be used to describe kink or fetish.

Regressor: Someone who regresses.

Little: This term has very heavy ties to kink. There is debate whether this term originates from the cgl community referring to the sub in the relationship or whether it came from those with DID as they often refer to younger alters as 'littles' , people in the cglre community that regress sometimes call themselves this.

Caregiver: Depending on the context this can either be someone who looks after a regressor or the dom in a cgl dynamic.

Carer: The chire (Child Regression community) alternative to caregiver, is not shared with any kink communitys and shouldnt ever be either.

Littlespace: This term is one that came from cgl into cglre and then into the general agere dictionary, it isnt really used so much by age regressors anymore seeing as it has heavy kink connotations but you may see it used that way in some places.

Subspace: strictly kink terminology, refers to the submissive mindset the sub in a power exchange relationship can slip into, never to be used when referring to an age regressor.

Domspace: strictly kink terminology, refers to the dominating mindset a dom in a power exchange relationship can slip into, never to be used when referring to a caregiver of an age regressor.

Headspace: This is used when talking about any kind of headspace be it a subspace or a regressed state, you'll have to check the context.

You may see some regressors using the terms 'smoll space' or 'little time' as alternatives to 'littlespace', but here I have only put the most common terminology, this carrd is constantly being updated ad edited though so more will be added

A small rant.

Please,
Stop saying you are 'into' age regression, it is not a kink, it is not something you are 'into'
Stop saying you 'have' age regression, it is not a mental illness, it is not something you 'have'

Age regression is something you 'do' or 'use' or even 'like'
You 'use' age regression as a coping mechanism.
You 'do' age regression to cope.
You 'like' to age regress when you are struggling.

Age regression is a coping mechanism. Age regression is a defence mechanism. Age regression is a symptom. Age regression is a form of (hypno)therapy.

Not a kink, Not a mental illness, Not a fetish.

On a similar note,
Please stop saying 'sfw age regression'
Age regression is completely non-sexual/non-kink.
It is always sfw so saying 'sfw age regression' is redundant and not any different from just saying 'Age regression'
Also saying 'sfw age regression' implies that there is a nsfw version which there is not.

It is important to use terminology correctly so that people don't get the wrong idea, if people do get the wrong idea it can put safe spaces in jeopardy.

Thank you for listening to me rant.

Thank you for reading!
